Pulling 100-200k+ damage is accomplished with ease, and have scored up to 6 ships sunk in a Randoms battle In CB these days I run CAs, DDs, and am looking into CVs so currently 50/50 I can get good enough innCV to add those in. I do not plan on using Bourgogne in Clan battles, but rather I can see the ship being fun and good in Randoms and Ranked as I greatly enjoy using my Jean Bart and its MRB among other attributes. The next regular Ranked season would take care of the rest of the cost since I only need 1,623 additional Steel and with clan steel bonuses of +10% I actually need less steel than that.
But for ranked junkies, port queens, and general fun, she is a phenomenal choice and a personal favorite.
While Bourg herself is somewhat CB viable below Storm in the right hands, it is not worth messing your team up and forcing a different playstyle on 5-7 other people. Your clan will thank you for a Stalin or Somers, and that's also assuming you have the steel to begin with. If you are thinking of getting her, the answer is undoubtedly yes, however it is situational. That slightly smaller gun caliber doesnt mean much when you can pull 38 knots to a flank and farm perfect broadsides with a 12 gun salvo and MBRB. Something I would NEVER thought I would say for a BB. Heck, last arms race ranked I used SE and it was WELL WORTH the 3 points. You can go secondaries, you can go tank, you can go hybrid, you can get 5 minute engine boosts with the consumable mod plus speed boost mod. I would say a JBs gimmicks on an Alsace body is a fairly good description. I will openly admit she isnt the hands down BEST choice, but she is the most fun. I actually used her in many ranked seasons exclusivley. Probably my favorite ship, undoubtedly in the top 3.
